In-house transfer pricing AI: who's it for?
In-house AI workflows and the online platform solve the same problem from opposite ends. One puts the documentation capability in your estate; the other puts it in ours. The choice usually comes down to scale, constraints and who you want operating it.
In-house AI workflows usually fit when
- Transfer pricing data cannot sit on a third party platform, for security, regulatory or policy reasons.
- The group is large enough that the volume justifies building rather than subscribing.
- There is an internal tax or finance team that wants leverage rather than outsourcing.
- The procurement route is a tender, and the requirement is a built capability.
- Existing systems are particular enough that a standard product would need heavy workarounds.
The online platform is usually better when
- You would rather the work was run for you than operated by your own team.
- The group is mid-sized and a subscription is more proportionate than a build.
- There is no internal transfer pricing specialist, and no plan to hire one.
- You want to start quickly rather than scope a project.
Tenders
If this is going through procurement.
Large groups rarely appoint a single supplier for something like this without running a process, and we would expect to take part in one rather than around it. Tell us the shape of the requirement and the timetable, and we will tell you plainly whether we are a credible answer to it.
Not sure which side you are on?
That is a reasonable place to start. A short call against your actual structure usually settles it in half an hour, and we will say so if neither is worth it for you yet.
